ZAK Leadership Training

It is already 3 weeks since the start of the 2009 leadership training, though a lot longer since the planning commenced. This year saw the start of new programs during the leadership training and for these to be prepared it took a team of people a lot of work when it came to the planning. Many meetings were held so that the content is discussed and the workshops planned. It also involved a lot of work in the ZAK office so that all the ideas could be put together and material prepared.

At the end of the leadership training weekend everyone was pleased with the success. The new leaders were pleased after a weekend during which they gained knowledge and the oragnisers were pleased with the success of the leadership course. It was also very nice to see some of the leaders who finished their training only last year helping out during the leadership training of 2009. It is very important that what is learnt is then passed on to those younger than us and for this reason I look forward to seeing the 'new' leaders in the organising team next year.

Thanks goes to Fr. Jimmy, not only for hosting us (the seminary is one of the few places big enough to house well over 100 people and allow us to have different activities at the same time in different locations) but also for celebrating Mass on Saturday evening.

A special mention is the fact that the ZAK Leadership Training will now be recognised in Europe (for those who have done the leadership training in 2009). This is a very big step which can be very useful for those ZAK leaders who follow this course. Being given such recognition, it means that there are further steps to be taken by the new leaders who would like to have this accreditation, but it is well worth the effort.
