The title is Freefall and it was taken from the quotation "We have placed our hope in the living God". 30 Aug - Weekend day 3. The morning started with a lot of sleepy people trying to wake up fully. After breakfast we had the energisers and then split into groups with members from different localities to talk about promoting ZAK. The members from each locality then got together to continue the discussion on a Parish basis. We all had fun during a game and then got refreshed and danced as a group. After eating it was time to do the cleaning and dismantling and everyone had a task to do and was told to help others once that task was done. It is amazing that the transport and setting up took 2.5 days and in half a day we had got everything back in order. It is easier to dismantle but there were many more helping hands, so the job was easier. With everything dismanlted it took 2 trips by van and various cars to take everything back to Birkirkara and before leaving we had put everything in place. We were all tired but very pleased that Kamp Sajf was once again a success. We now all meet again on Monday 7th for the evaluation. View photos from the day. 29 Aug - Weekend day 2. We started the day with breakfast and during the energisers learnt how to dance to 2 new songs. The morning workshop and discussion was about making decisions about who to trust. Lunch was followed by some free time and then the afternoon workshop began. For this the participants were formed into groups and then had a short discussion before going out to do a task. When they returned and had done some processing we had Mass which was celebrated by Fr. Ray. Dancing and dinner came just before we had the night game. During the night game the participants experienced Earth, Fire, Water and Air in various ways. At the end of the night game there was a long queue of people to shower and finally with everyone feeling fresh it was time for bed. View photos from the day. 28 Aug - Weekend day 1. It was a quiet night and a quiet morning becuase there were only the 20+ leaders left. During the morning the kitchen was busy as food was being prepared, some of us had errands to run and the remainder saw what was still left to be done. After lunch the final few things were done and we could take it a little easy till the participants arrived for the weekend. Many of the participants had been leaders during the first part of the week and some of them will be participants for the last time. The opening animation was quite funny and after some games we had dinner. Everyone participated in a large game and enjoyed it. Next we had the reflections which included some new things as well. During the free time that followed the showers and ZAK shop were open and most stayed chatting for a while, until it was time for bed. Some of the participants slept during the night while others remained awake lying on their beds, so everyone was still tired when we gathered for breakfast. The energisers today involved a lot of running and that woke everyone up. Everyone had a part in preparing for Mass and when Fr. Michael arrived we celebrated this prayer all together. Lunch was followed soon afterwards by the water games which were fun as it was a hot day. As it is good practice to leave cleanliness, the groups were split amongst the various areas to leave the place ready for the next group. With all the younger leaders gone, those who remained had a meeting to see what tasks still have to be done before the arrival of the last group of participants. We helped set the kitchen in order and got to bed. View photos from the day. 26 Aug - Sleepover 3 (1994-1995) day 1. By 8.00 the participants had already started arriving and after going through the registration of all 84 participants we had the opening. Names games were followed by the first workshop session with the workshops following the kamp sajf theme. After eating everyone helped to clean up and enjoyed some free time. Once we were 'energised' the same workshops were repeated with everyone doing a different one from the morning. It was then the whole group together to express what ZAK means to the. The reflections after dinner were very well organised and kept everyone following. The nightgame saw the groups together again with some surprises in store. All the participants were awake in good time and after breakfast and some energisers there were the workshops which were based on the theme of Kamp Sajf. As it was a hot day everyone enjoyed the water games, which didn't produce a winning team but instead some very wet participants. We had lunch and after some free time prepared for Mass. It was the first time that Fr. Luke said Mass during a ZAK activity. It was not easy when the time came for everyone to leave for home, but the first part of Kamp Sajf 2009 had come to an end. Later on in the evening, a lot of leaders arrived so that by dinner time we were more than 60 leaders. Some meetings were held to prepare for the morning and then everyone went to get a good night's rest so as to be fresh when the participants for the next part arrive. Therefore it was not hard and the last of the jobs were soon done. During the afternoon there was a meeting for the leaders so that everyone would know the program and what tasks they would have during the sleepover. At the same time the kitchen was being used as the food for the evening was being prepared. At 6.00 the first Freefall participants arrived and after registration there was the introduction. The participants had chance to get to know each other before it was time for dinner. Reflections were followed by a game and then there was time for a shower and snacks before bed. During the morning the rest of the banners were hung up, the lights were set up and some loose ends tied. After eating we again checked what was left and amongst other things all the plates, cups and cutlery were washed, the dining area was finished and lists were made of the participants. Some of the workshops were also checked over and we had some time to relax. In the evening Fr. Michael came and we had Mass and prayed all together for a good kamp sajf. From then on it was relaxing time till we went to bed. View photos from the day. 22 Aug - Setting up of showers, kitchen and other things. ZAK leaders to take their personal belongings and sleep there. Some ZAK members started arriving at various times of the day, but the majority were there for the whole day. 1 group was setting up the showers which is a very big job and another group was painting the banner. Later the kitchen was set up and throughout the day many different jobs were done. The sinks were also prepared, banners hung, dining area prepared, all in all a very busy and tiring day for all who were involved. Towards the evening we were tired and glad to make use of the showers which were complete. After eating it was time to sleep and regain our energy for another day of preparations. This morning it was 17 ZAK members who met at ZAK House to transport the items which we will be needing for Freefall. We first filled the van with the things which were at ZAK house, taking the big things in the van which we hired and the food in the cars. After unloading at Naxxar we all headed to the Seminary from where we collected the kitchen which had been used for the Leadership Training and an exchange. These were also taken to Naxxar and everything placed in a classroom in readiness for Saturday. As we were many hands we managed to finish by 13:00, making light work of the job in hand. There is a lot of work to be done on Saturday and Sunday to set up everything and the more we are the easier it will be to set up everything. See you on Saturday for the start of Freefall.
